Ph.D. Candidate in Management | McCombs School of Business
Welcome! My name is Sik, and I am a Ph.D. candidate in Management (concentration: Strategy) at the University of Texas at Austin.
We are living through a shift in which algorithm-driven technologies are changing how humans interact, an essential soruce of human learning and performance. Ultimately, we may one day live in a world where algorithms manage human social interactions—perhaps something like the "Matrix"?
This sparks my curiosity about how algorithms shape social interactions among humans. Using GitHub datasets, my dissertation examines the impact of algorithm-assisted evaluation on social interaction during collaboration in software development.
Additionally, using Instagram datasets, another stream of my research investigates (1) how the social interaction of humans influence algorithm learning and (2) how human competition influences algorithm adoption. This research stream highlights the dynamic interplay between humans and algorithm.
